Job Description

As a Plant 4 India Fellow in Rural Development, Land Restoration, and Environmental Education, you will play a crucial role in supporting rural communities in India to restore their environment, enhance climate resilience, and establish long-term food security. The fellowship commences with an orientation at Sadhana Forest in Tamil Nadu, following which you will engage in hands-on training sessions to educate local communities on appropriate water conservation and tree-planting techniques in the designated rural area. Key Responsibilities: - Facilitate hands-on training on water conservation design and implementation, reforestation, biodiversity and ecosystem regeneration, long-term rural development, children's environmental education, and sustainable living practices such as renewable energy and composting - Adapt to various cultural contexts while demonstrating leadership skills - Develop effective and compassionate communication strategies - Manage time efficiently to maximize impact and productivity Qualifications: - No prior experience in environment or ecology fields is necessary Upon completing the orientation at Sadhana Forest, you will be assigned to one of the Plant 4 India centers in rural India, where you will reside in sustainable campuses. In addition, you will receive a monthly stipend to cover your expenses while being supported by a mentor throughout the fellowship period. For more details, please visit www.plant4india.org.
