Plant Head

Role & responsibilities

• Head manufacturing activities of kitchen appliances plant with high volume production lines.
• Spearheading production and material planning on monthly, weekly and daily schedule.
• Collaborating with support functions to ensure timely supply of raw materials, consumables, and spare parts.
• Ensuring safety first principle and adherence to environment, safety and health policies of the organization.
• Identifying performance bottlenecks and undertaking steps for rectifying the same.
• Monitoring production processes, identifying any deviations and making relevant modifications.
• Responsible for plant level planning, organizing, directing and running optimum day-to-day operations and within budgets
• Responsible for reducing plant level conversion cost per part, increasing throughput, timely production, while producing parts with an expected quality
• Responsible for producing quality products
• Responsible for plant assets (including tooling) and V-Guard assets at OEMs controlled by Plant installation, maintenance, service etc
• Responsible for Identifying and implementing cost reduction and productivity improvement levers at Plants and OEMs
• Responsible for implementing product development related activities in plant to ensure timely new product introduction.
• Responsible for plant employee and contract worker management, engagement and safety (including IR issues)
• Responsible for managing a large team comprising of production, planning, quality, maintenance, stores & purchase, finance, HR, etc.
• Responsible for scheduling and planning predictive, preventive, breakdown maintenance for various machinery & instruments to increase machine up time and equipment reliability.
• Responsible for assessing the training needs of the various employees in co-ordination with the various department heads of the respective departments.
• Responsible for guiding employees, appraising and reviewing their performance, and ensuring optimum performance.
• Identifying and implementing strategies for building team effectiveness by promoting a spirit of cooperation between team members
• Responsible for implementing safety rules and guidelines as per the regulatory safety enactments.
• Responsible for complying with all statutory compliances.
• Responsible for proper house keeping of the premises and asset care.
• Coordinate with corporate functions like corporate quality, IE, HR, SCM, finance, Customer Service, R&D, etc, for achieving the organisational goals effectively and efficiently

Preferred candidate profile

• Should have thorough understanding of Kitchen Hood & Gas Stove product category manufacturing eco System in India.
• Should have worked as a plant head at least for 7-8 years in medium to large scale plants, preferably in similar industries
• Proven Leadership abilities with experience in project management
• Good Communication skills
• Should be ready to travel extensively.
