Planning Manager

Position: Planning Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed project plans for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of DT Meters.
• Prepare resource allocation plans including manpower, materials, tools, and logistics.
• Track work progress against timelines and adjust schedules to meet project milestones.
• Plan and schedule shutdowns from DISCOM required for DT meter installation activities.
• Coordinate with DISCOM officials for shutdown approvals, safety protocols, and work execution timelines.
• Manage planning and scheduling for a large-scale project of 2 lakh DT Meters to be installed.
• Monitor material availability (DT meters, cables, junction boxes, accessories) and communicate shortages proactively.
• Ensure alignment between field operations, material readiness, and project priorities.
• Analyze DPRs (Daily Progress Reports), team productivity, and installation metrics.
• Prepare dashboards, MIS reports, and progress summaries for senior management.
• Maintain updated databases of teams, sites, targets, achievements, and delays.
• Evaluate bottlenecks in installation, logistics, material flow, and manpower allocation.
• Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance execution efficiency.
• Implement and monitor adherence to SOPs for planning and field coordination.
• Identify risks related to materials, manpower, permissions, shutdown planning, and site conditions.
• Develop mitigation plans and ensure timely resolution of issues with concerned departments.
• Escalate major delays, material shortages, shutdown issues, or field-related challenges to management.

Skills & Qualifications:

• B. Tech/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or a relevant field.
• Strong understanding of DT Metering, LT/HT systems, and distribution project workflows.
• Experience coordinating with DISCOM for shutdown planning and project execution.
• Excellent planning, scheduling, and project management skills.
• Strong analytical abilities with experience in MIS, dashboards, and Excel-based reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple teams and large-scale project operations, especially high-volume installations (2 lakh DT meters).
• Good communication and coordination skills across teams and management levels.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and project tracking tools.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work under pressure and tight timelines.
