Role Objective

Project Planning, Scheduling & Controls system

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1) Planning Setup & Baseline Scheduling (Primavera / MS Project)

• Develop

  WBS, workpack structure, baseline schedule

  (Level 3/4) for:
• Piping fabrication & erection
  
• Structural fabrication & erection
  
• Equipment erection & alignment
  
• Scaffolding (erection/dismantle)
  
• Shutdown workpacks (hot/cold areas)
  
• Define milestones, logic links, calendars, productivity assumptions, and resource loading (where required).
  
• Prepare

  execution strategy schedule

  aligned with fronts, drawings, material, and manpower availability.

2) Progress Measurement & Reporting (Daily/Weekly/Monthly)

• Establish progress measurement system:
  

• IND/INM, weld inches, spools cleared, MT erected, equipment count

  , scaffold m, punch clearance
• Collect daily progress from site teams and prepare:
  
• Daily progress report (DPR)
  
• Weekly progress & lookahead
  
• Monthly client reports and internal MIS
  
• Maintain planned vs actual curves (S-curve), critical path tracking, and early warning flags.
  

3) Lookahead Planning & Constraint Management (90-30-7 Day)

• Drive

  90-day / 30-day / 7-day lookahead plans

  with area-wise micro planning.
• Identify constraints: drawings, approvals, permits, scaffolding, material, cranes, access, QA/NDT.
  
• Run weekly constraint removal meeting with owners (Projects/SCM/QA/QC/Safety/Commercial).
  

4) Productivity & Resource Controls (Manpower + Equipment)

• Build manpower deployment plan:

  gang compositions

  and area-wise allocation.
• Track productivity daily:
  
• output per gang / per shift
  
• idle manpower reasons & corrective actions
  
• Resource planning for cranes/hydras/manlifts and tools; utilization tracking.
  

5) Cost & Quantity Controls (Project Controls)

• Quantity tracking: planned vs executed vs billed quantities (where measurement basis exists).
  
• Support commercial team with:
  
• billing readiness status
  
• variation identification (extra items / scope creep)
  
• change log, EOT support (delay analysis)
  
• Maintain

  cost-to-complete inputs

  : manpower forecast, rental forecasts, consumables forecast (coordination with CFO/commercial).

6) Risk Management & Recovery Planning

• Maintain project risk register (schedule + resource + interface risks).
  
• Develop recovery plans: re-sequencing, parallel working, additional gangs, shift planning.
  
• Perform delay analysis (basic to intermediate): critical path impact, mitigation proposals.
  

7) Client & Stakeholder Coordination (Planning Interface)

• Attend client planning meetings, coordinate priorities, and align internal execution sequence.
  
• Prepare professional presentations: weekly dashboard, milestone charts, blockers, actions.
  
• Ensure MOM closure tracking and action ownership.
  

8) PMO Governance & Standardization (Across RBM)

• Create RBM planning standards:
  
• common WBS templates for piping/structure/shutdown
  
• standard DPR formats
  
• progress measurement rules
  
• reporting calendar and dashboard templates
  
• Train site planners and ensure single reporting language across projects.
  

Key Deliverables / KPIs

• Approved baseline schedule + updates (weekly/monthly)
  
• On-time milestone achievement and reduced slippages
  
• Accurate progress measurement and reporting discipline
  
• Effective constraint removal (reduced idle manpower)
  
• Improved productivity metrics (IND/INM, MT/day, weld inches/day, scaffold m/day)
  
• Timely recovery plans and credible forecasts
