Job Description: Placement Officer Position: Placement Officer Experience: 3-7 years Location: Rama University , Kanpur. Department: Placements Reports to: Director, Career Services Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Training and Placement Officer to join our university's placement team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in career services, training programs, and facilitating student placements with excellent communication and organizational skills. The position involves managing the end-to-end placement process for students, designing and executing training programs, and building strong industry relationships to ensure high placement rates and student success. Key Responsibilities: 1.Placement Coordination: Develop and implement placement strategies for students across various departments and courses. Liaise with prospective employers and recruiters to organize campus recruitment drives. Coordinate pre-placement activities such as resume building, mock interviews, and career counseling. Ensure smooth execution of on-campus recruitment drives and interviews. Maintain placement records and track student placement progress. 2. Industry Networking and Relations: Build and nurture strong relationships with key industry players, companies, and alumni to create placement opportunities. Stay updated on industry trends and opportunities to inform training and placement strategies. Promote the university brand and programs to industry partners and potential employers 3. Training & Development: Conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars on employability skills, soft skills, and industry-specific knowledge. Identify skill gaps in students and provide targeted training programs to enhance employability. Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to improve results. Organize guest lectures, mock interview sessions, and group discussions with industry professionals. 4. Student Support: Provide individual career counseling and guidance to students, including job search strategies, career planning, and interview preparation. Assist students in identifying their career goals and aligning them with potential job opportunities. Maintain regular communication with students to track progress and provide necessary support during the placement process. 5.Placement Data Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate data on student placements, salary packages, industry sectors, and employer feedback. Generate reports for senior management on placement statistics and trends. Analyze placement data to assess the effectiveness of current programs and strategies. 6.Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with academic departments to understand curriculum updates and ensure student preparation is aligned with industry needs. Work closely with faculty and staff to encourage student participation in placement activities. Manage a small team of assistants or interns in the execution of placement-related tasks. Qualifications: Bachelor's/Masters degree in any field (preferably Human Resources, Business Administration, or related disciplines). 3-7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a higher education institution or a corporate HR/Placement function. Strong understanding of the placement process, including resume screening, interview techniques, and salary negotiations. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills. Knowledge of industry trends and the ability to match students with the right career opportunities. Proficient in using Microsoft Office and placement management software. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Desirable Skills: Experience in conducting training programs and workshops. Strong industry connections in sectors like IT, Engineering, Management, etc. Ability to work with students from diverse academic backgrounds and cultures. Certification in career counseling or HR management will be a plus.
