Description
As a Piping Design Engineer at our Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Navi Mumbai, Airoli, your role involves: Key Responsibilities: - Developing and reviewing piping layouts, isometrics, and general arrangement drawings using 3D modeling software such as PDMS, E3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and SmartPlant. - Preparing and reviewing material take-offs (MTOs), bill of materials (BOMs), and piping specifications. - Supporting piping engineering needs across the organization as an individual contributor, handling routine work independently and complex issues with guidance. - Conducting detailed technical evaluations to address piping and system design, operation, and maintenance issues. - Reviewing project and contract deliverables to ensure compliance with project specifications, design practices, and piping best practices. - Participating in design reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs, vendor qualifications, and vendor bid evaluations. - Supporting functional initiatives, maintaining discipline documentation, and continuously enhancing technical expertise. - Coordinating with Assurance Engineers in the UK to align on quality, safety, and compliance requirements. - Supporting cost estimation activities by providing accurate input on piping quantities, material specifications, and design complexity. - Collaborating with the estimating team to validate piping MTOs and identify cost drivers during FEED and EPC phases. - Contributing to value engineering and cost optimization initiatives through design efficiency. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. - 12-15 years of experience in piping design within EPC, engineering consultancy, or client organizations. - Proficiency in 3D modeling tools like PDMS, E3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and SmartPlant. - Strong understanding of piping materials, specifications, and fabrication techniques. - Familiarity with piping stress analysis tools such as CAESAR II is a plus. - Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. - Experience working in a global project environment with cross-border coordination. - Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities. - Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of software programs.
