DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- To perform skilled comprehensive physiotherapy & rehabilitation assessment of patients.
- To use clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis
- To assess, develop and implement physiotherapy treatment for specialist caseload, and to provide advice in specialist field.
- To formulate, develop and deliver individualized treatment programs based upon evidence-based practice, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.
- To communicate effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for assessment and treatment, providing the patient with good understanding of their conditions and maximize their rehabilitation potential.
- To keep abreast of evidenced based practice in the neurological, pediatric, geriatric, cardio-respiratory, musculoskeletal and sports injury training area by use of relevant reading, attendance at in service training, external courses and database searches
- To ensure good working knowledge of national and local standards and monitor quality as appropriate
- To have effective communication with all other center personnel and with external medical personnel from other agencies / units.
- To manage and priorities own clinical caseload efficiently and effectively.
- The provision of clinical reports to supply clinical prognoses and comprehensive discharge planning for authorized external requesting entities and / other health professionals.
- To actively seek and initiate projects to enhance the status and standing of the center.
- To act as an ambassador for the physiotherapy profession at all times.
- Attending review meetings and provide adequate information
- To maintain a high standard of confidentiality at all times.
To be responsible for the safe and competent use of all electrotherapy and gym equipment, patient appliances and aids and ensure that other members of the multi-disciplinary team attain competence prior to use. The identification and reporting of work service requirements and repair needs within the center.
- Ensure high standards of administration of physiotherapy care within the center.
- The care, maintenance and proper use of materials, equipment and stationery and the accurate administration of any allocated inventories.
- Ensure maintenance of high standards of recording, filing and storage of patient and statistical information
- Ensure that processes are in place to guarantee the safety of both patient and therapist and manage clinical risk within the work area in line with policies and guidelines
- To deal with complaints in line with the policy.
- To undertake any additional duties, appropriate to the post as may be delegated by the HOD
- Supervise work of less experienced physiotherapists/students; train and appraise junior staff; train other professions.
- Active participation within the Centers multi-disciplinary team environment.
- To contribute to developing protocols to enhance the clinical development and efficacy of the center.
- Assess guest needs and inquire about contraindications (e.g., allergies, high blood pressure, and pregnancy) before beginning service. Also frequently check with guest to promote comfort, safety and security throughout service.
- Clean, maintain, and sterilize tools after each treatment. Maintain cleanliness of workstation and/or treatment room throughout shift, dispose of trash and dirty linens, and secure supplies and equipment at the end of each shift.
- Monitor and stick to time schedule throughout the day. Handle inappropriate guest behavior by following Milife standard operating procedures for Inappropriate conduct for guests and therapists, leading up to and including stopping a treatment or service and informing Supervisor / Head of the department.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the HOD/Supervisor immediately.
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests’ service needs; thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
- Monitor and complete treatment plans as per the schedule provided.
- Maintaining records and case notes
- Reviewing the patient’s progress and adapting the treatment accordingly
