PHP Team Lead

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned PHP Team Lead with strong experience in Laravel and CodeIgniter to lead our backend development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing project delivery, mentoring junior developers, writing clean and efficient code, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring scalable web applications to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of PHP developers, ensuring task distribution and performance tracking
• Design and develop backend logic, APIs, and scalable systems using Laravel or CodeIgniter
• Review and optimize code for performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, and project managers for seamless project delivery
• Handle deployment, version control (Git), and third-party integrations
• Conduct code reviews, provide feedback, and promote coding standards
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues
• Estimate time and resources required for development tasks and projects
• Ensure security, data protection, and best practices in all development work
• Continuously research and recommend improvements in architecture and tools

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in PHP with solid understanding of Laravel and CodeIgniter
• In-depth knowledge of MySQL, database design, and query optimization
• Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (basic to intermediate level)
• Experience with RESTful APIs, MVC architecture, and Git version control
• Familiarity with cloud deployment (shared hosting or cloud providers like AWS, DigitalOcean)
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Good to Have

• Knowledge of Vue.js, React.js, or AJAX/jQuery
• Understanding of API authentication (JWT, OAuth2)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to manage client communication and handle project timelines

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of PHP development experience
• Minimum 1–2 years of team leadership or technical lead experience
