*Key Responsibilities*
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using PHP (CodeIgniter) and MySQL.
- Analyse slow-performing queries and implement in-depth optimisation techniques such as indexing, query restructuring, and caching mechanisms.
- Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code following best practices.
- Perform regular performance tuning of MySQL databases, including stored procedures, triggers, and views.
- Collaborate with frontend developers and product teams to deliver robust and scalable backend solutions.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure application reliability.
- Implement RESTful APIs and third-party integrations where needed.
- Maintain version control and collaborative workflows using Git.
*Required Skills & Qualifications*
- Strong command of PHP and MySQL, with a minimum of 2 years in the CodeIgniter framework.
- Deep understanding of SQL query optimisation—EXPLAIN and profiling, indexing strategies (composite, covering, partial), query plan analysis and refactoring.
- Experience in designing normalised and denormalised schemas for high-performance use cases.
- Familiarity with caching techniques (Memcached, Redis) is a plus.
- Knowledge of MVC architecture and clean code principles.
