Job Summary:

The Lecturer – Photography will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in various aspects of photography, including technical, artistic, and conceptual skills. The role involves developing curriculum, conducting theory and practical classes, and guiding students through creative projects that enhance their visual storytelling abilities.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching & Instruction

  • Conduct lectures, demonstrations, and practical sessions on photography fundamentals, studio lighting, composition, editing, and digital imaging.
  • Teach various genres of photography such as portrait, landscape, fashion, product, event, and documentary photography.

o Guide students in using DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lighting equipment, and editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom).

2. Curriculum & Academic Development

  • Design and update photography course modules to align with industry standards and creative trends.
  • Develop lesson plans, assignments, and assessment tools to evaluate student progress.
  • Collaborate with the academic team to integrate photography into interdisciplinary projects.

3. Student Mentorship & Project Guidance

  • Mentor students on portfolio development, final projects, and exhibitions.
  • Provide constructive feedback and encourage artistic expression and innovation.
  • Support students in preparing for internships, competitions, and professional opportunities.

4. Administrative & Institutional Support

  • Maintain student attendance, records, and academic performance reports.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, workshops, seminars, and institutional events.
  • Assist in organizing photography exhibitions, events, and guest lectures.

5. Professional Development & Industry Engagement

  • Stay updated with current photography trends, techniques, and technologies.
  • Engage with professionals and alumni to bring industry exposure to students.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Photography, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or related field.
  • Proven experience in professional photography and/or academic teaching.
  • Proficiency in camera operations, lighting setups, and post-production tools (Adobe Suite preferred).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring creative learners.


Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a college or design institute.
  • Knowledge of videography, cinematography, or multimedia content creation.
