Pharmacy Manager – Medway Hospitals, Chennai

Position Overview:

The Pharmacy Manager will oversee hospital pharmacy operations to ensure safe, effective, and efficient medication management. This role involves managing inventory, supervising pharmacy staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily pharmacy operations including dispensing, inventory control, and procurement of medicines and medical supplies. ​

Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital policies related to drug storage, handling, and distribution. ​

Supervise pharmacists, technicians, and support staff, fostering a culture of safety and accountability. ​

Collaborate with clinicians and nursing teams to ensure appropriate and timely medication delivery to patients. ​

Maintain accurate records for all pharmacy transactions and ensure the availability of essential and emergency drugs. ​

Monitor pharmacy expenditure, develop budget plans, and identify cost-optimization opportunities. ​

Implement quality control and continuous improvement programs to enhance efficiency and service standards. ​

Conduct audits and periodic reviews to ensure compliance with hospital and legal frameworks. ​

Lead training and professional development programs for pharmacy team members. ​

Participate in hospital committees related to medication safety and therapeutic practices. ​

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Pharm D with MBA preferred

Experience: Minimum 7–10 years in hospital or healthcare pharmacy operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. ​

Strong knowledge of hospital formulary, drug inventory systems, and healthcare regulatory requirements.

Proficient in pharmacy management software and hospital information systems.

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Bachelor's or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy

Valid licensure as a Pharmacist
