Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacy in providing effective, appropriate, and safe pharmacy services.
• Provide friendly and cooperative customer service.
• Enter patient data accurately.
• Answer telephones quickly and with courtesy.
• Operate the cash register and ring sales.
• Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, pharmacy staff meetings, in-service educational programs and other committees and functions as required by the facility and pharmacy department.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
• Assist in inventory control such as auditing receipt of goods, inventorying, stocking, pricing, monitoring usage, and correcting pricing and quantities in the computer.
• Remove, pick up, and/or deliver drug orders.
• Work cooperatively with other staff members to enhance the team concept.

Qualifications

• A passion for outstanding customer service, professionalism, and teamwork.
• Strong communication skills.
• Board of pharmacy license preferred.
• General knowledge of generally accepted pharmacy principles, practices and procedures, general mathematics, reading, and spelling, and the use of personal computers.
• Ability to operate various types of pharmacy equipment.
• Ability to use a CRT to access patient/drug information systems.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time while performing pharmacy service support duties.
• Ability to lift; store and carry supplies and equipment.
