Job Description

Job Title: Retail Store Pharmacist Location: Madhya Pradesh (Registered with MP Pharmacy Council) Department: Operations / Pharmacy Reporting To: Store Manager / Cluster Manager Detailed Job Description: 1. Prescription Handling: Accurately review and interpret prescriptions issued by registered medical practitioners. Dispense the right medication in correct dosage and quantity as per prescription. Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in dispensing prescription drugs. 2. Alternative Suggestion: Suggest generic or therapeutic equivalents where the prescribed medicine is unavailable, ensuring safety and efficacy. Educate customers on safe usage of alternatives in consultation with doctors if required. 3. Explain About Compositions: Clearly explain the composition, usage, dosage, and side effects of medicines to customers. Ensure customers are aware of drug interactions and storage conditions. Advise on over-the-counter (OTC) medicines based on symptoms and need. 4. Maintaining the Pharmacy: Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and proper organization of the pharmacy area. Ensure all medications are stored in accordance with legal requirements (temperature, expiry, etc.). Ensure expiry audits and FIFO (First In First Out) method is followed to prevent dispensing of expired items. 5. Stock Receiving: Check the stock received from the warehouse or vendors against invoices and purchase orders. Verify batch numbers, expiry dates, and quantities during inward stock entry. Report any discrepancies or damages to the concerned authority. 6. Stock Arranging & Computer Billing: Arrange medicines systematically by category, salt, and brand name for quick retrieval. Operate POS (Point of Sale) system for accurate billing and transaction processing. Ensure timely entry of inward and outward stock in the inventory management software. 7. Cross Verification of Billing and Sign-off: Double-check bills for accuracy before finalizing customer transactions. Match physical stock with system entries periodically and during store closing. Sign-off and reconcile end-of-day reports to ensure no billing mismatch or stock discrepancies. Skills & Qualifications: Diploma/Bachelor in Pharmacy (D.Pharm/B.Pharm) Valid Registration with Madhya Pradesh Pharmacy Council (MP PCI) Knowledge of drugs, compositions, and inventory management Good communication and customer service skills Basic computer knowledge and billing software handling
