This role bridges laboratory innovation with plant-level implementation, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and compliant production of high-quality intermediates and APIs. The position requires strong expertise in catalysis chemistry, process knowledge, scale-up methodologies and precious metal inventory management.

Turn lab chemistry into stable, compliant production. You define the process window, write the transfer pack, and stand next to Production on day one. If you enjoy kinetics, data, and clean handovers, this will feel like home.

What you will own

• Design and optimisation of Pd, Pt, Ru, Rh systems on suitable supports.
• Scale-up from lab to pilot to plant with heat and mass transfer in view.
• Transfer packs and training. PFDs, CPPs, DoE results, in-process controls, and SOPs.
• Documentation under GMP and ICH. Development reports, protocols, batch records, deviations, CAPA.
• One data spine with the lab. GC, HPLC, ICP-MS, XRD, BET used to lock decisions.

Must have

• Metallurgy Engineer 7+ years in catalyst development and process scale-up in pharma or fine chemicals.

• Strong grasp of catalysis, kinetics, reactor choice, and process safety.

• Evidence of successful pilot and commercial transfers.

• Fluent with analytical data to define and defend control strategy.

• Cross functional leadership with Production, QA, and vendors.

Nice to have

• DoE use to build robustness and reduce precious metal loss.
• Familiarity with precious metal inventory practices so transfers protect recovery.
• Experience drafting URS and choosing pilot or plant equipment.
