JOB DESCRIPTION – PGT CHEMISTRY

Position: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) – Chemistry
Department: Science
Grades to Teach: CBSE Grades 10, 11 & 12
Experience Required: Minimum 3 years of relevant teaching experience
Preferred Institutions: Candidates from IIT, NIT, Central Universities, or other reputed institutions preferred

1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAcademic Delivery

• Teach Physical, Organic, and Inorganic Chemistry to students of Grades 10, 11, and 12 as per CBSE curriculum.
• Prepare structured lesson plans, teaching aids, presentations, worksheets, and digital learning resources.
• Conduct laboratory experiments and practical sessions ensuring safety and proper usage of equipment.
• Simplify complex concepts using real-life applications, models, and demonstrations.
• Integrate ICT tools, simulations, and smart-board teaching methods.

Assessment & Evaluation

• Prepare question papers, assignments, worksheets, periodic tests, and board-exam oriented practice papers.
• Evaluate answer scripts and maintain accurate academic records.
• Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Conduct remedial classes for slow learners and enrichment sessions for advanced learners.
• Prepare students for CBSE Board Examinations, Olympiads, and competitive exam foundations (if applicable).

Student Mentorship

• Identify individual learning gaps and guide students academically.
• Motivate students to develop analytical and scientific thinking skills.
• Maintain discipline and ensure a safe, positive classroom and laboratory environment.

Documentation & School Engagement

• Maintain lesson plans, lab records, assessment reports, and CBSE-related documentation.
• Participate in departmental meetings, workshops, trainings, and school activities.
• Communicate with parents during PTMs regarding student performance and progress.

2. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSEducational Qualification

• Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry.
• B.Ed. is mandatory as per CBSE norms.
• Candidates from IIT / NIT / Central Universities preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience teaching Chemistry at the senior secondary (CBSE) level.

• Excellent communication and classroom/lab management skills.
• Proficiency in digital teaching tools and smart classroom technology.
• Student-focused teaching approach with mentoring skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
