Job Title: School Counsellor / Psychology Counsellor Department: Student Support Services Location: Winmore Academy Whitefield Reports To: Principal Job Summary: The School Counsellor plays a vital role in supporting students' emotional, social, behavioural, and academic development. This role involves counselling students individually or in groups, conducting assessments, collaborating with teachers and parents, and creating a safe and supportive school environment. The counsellor helps students overcome challenges, build resilience, and develop positive coping strategies. Key Responsibilities:1. Student Support and Counselling Provide individual and group counselling for students facing emotional, academic, behavioural, or social challenges. Address issues such as stress, anxiety, bullying, grief, family problems, low self-esteem , and peer pressure. Offer crisis intervention and support in emergencies. 2. Psychological Assessment & Intervention Conduct basic psychological assessments and screenings to identify student needs. Develop and monitor intervention plans for students requiring additional support. Refer students to external mental health professionals when necessary. 3. Collaboration and Consultation Work closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to create a supportive educational environment. Provide guidance to teachers on handling classroom behavioural issues. Participate in student review meetings , IEPs, and parent conferences. 4. Preventive and Developmental Programs Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness sessions on mental health, time management, exam stress , and life skills . Promote social-emotional learning and character development across all grade levels. 5. Record Keeping and Reporting Maintain confidential records of all counselling sessions and interventions. Prepare monthly and annual reports on counselling activities, trends, and student progress. Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Psychology / Counselling / Child Psychology / Clinical Psychology . Certification or diploma in School Counselling / Guidance Counselling preferred. Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a school or child-related counselling environment. Strong interpersonal, listening, and conflict-resolution skills. Fluency in English and familiarity with local languages (if required). Desirable Attributes: Empathy, patience, and strong ethical standards. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Understanding of child and adolescent development. Experience with inclusive education and special needs support is a plus. Work Conditions: Full-time role based at the school campus. May be required to participate in after-school programs, PTMs, or school events. Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹40,073.30 per month Benefits: Provident Fund Schedule: Day shift Morning shift Supplemental Pay: Yearly bonus Work Location: In person
