Job Title: School Nurse Department: Health & Wellness Location: Winmore Academy Reports To: Principal Job Summary: The School Nurse is responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of students and staff. This role involves providing first aid, managing chronic health conditions, administering medications, conducting health screenings, and supporting public health compliance. The nurse collaborates with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure a safe and healthy school environment. Key Responsibilities:1. Student Health Services Provide immediate care for illness or injury during school hours. Administer prescribed medications and monitor effects. Manage and monitor students with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, epilepsy). 2. Health Records and Documentation Maintain accurate and confidential student health records. Track immunization compliance and follow up with families. Prepare reports as required by school or local health authorities. 3. Health Screenings & Referrals Conduct regular screenings (vision, hearing, BMI, etc.). Identify potential health issues and refer for further medical attention. 4. Health Education Educate students and staff on hygiene, nutrition, disease prevention, and general wellness. Offer individual counseling and health-related guidance when needed. 5. Emergency Care and Preparedness Provide emergency first aid and CPR during school hours. Develop and implement care plans for students with life-threatening conditions. Participate in emergency response and safety drills. 6. Collaboration and Communication Liaise with parents, physicians, and school staff regarding student health needs. Assist in developing health-related school policies and protocols. 7. Staff Training and Support Train staff in first aid, chronic condition awareness, and medication handling. Support staff wellness initiatives as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) or GNM with relevant experience. Registered Nurse (RN) license with the appropriate State Nursing Council. Certification in First Aid and CPR (mandatory). Experience in pediatric or school-based nursing preferred. Good communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Work Conditions: School-based, full-time position during academic hours. Must be available to respond to health emergencies on campus. Occasional evening or weekend duties for school events may be required. Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month Benefits: Provident Fund Schedule: Day shift Morning shift Supplemental Pay: Yearly bonus Language: Hindi (Preferred) Work Location: In person
