Employment Type: Full-time


We are a growing solar design and engineering company specializing in residential and commercial solar permit packages across the United States. We are expanding our team and looking for a detail-oriented Permitting & Interconnection Specialist who can handle documentation, utility submissions, AHJ communications, and project tracking for multiple U.S. states and counties.


Job Responsibilities

Permitting Process (All U.S. States & Counties):

  • Prepare, review, and submit permit applications to Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), including city, county, and state building departments.
  • Understand and follow NEC, local building codes, fire codes, and permitting requirements for each jurisdiction.
  • Coordinate with internal design teams to ensure drawings and documents meet local compliance requirements.
  • Track permit status, follow up with AHJs, and resolve corrections or revision requests.
  • Maintain permit logs, documentation records, and submission timelines.


Interconnection Applications (All U.S. Utilities):

  • Prepare and submit interconnection applications to utility companies nationwide.
  • Coordinate with utilities for application acceptance, engineering review, and approvals.
  • Communicate project details, load calculations, single-line diagrams, and required documents.
  • Handle PTO (Permission to Operate) submissions and follow-ups.


California-Specific Add-On Responsibilities:

(Preferred but not mandatory; additional compensation for CA specialists)

  • Manage California utility interconnections: PG&E, SCE, SDG&E, LADWP, Riverside, Anaheim, Glendale, etc.
  • Handle NEM, NEM-ST, NEM-3, and battery storage related submissions.
  • Process California AHJ permit submissions including LA County, LA City, San Bernardino, Orange County, and high-volume jurisdictions.
  • Experience with SGIP (Self-Generation Incentive Program) is a strong plus.


What We’re Looking For

  • 1–2+ years of U.S. solar permitting or interconnection experience
  • Strong understanding of AHJ & utility workflows
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable interpreting technical drawings
  • Experience with CRM/project trackers is a plus
