Role Description: Payroll Executive F&A Operations
end-to-end payroll processing and accounting
Role and responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
- Process monthly payroll for employees in accordance with company policies and statutory requirements.
- Collect, validate, and upload inputs such as attendance, leaves, overtime, incentives, reimbursements, and deductions.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws and statutory obligations including retirement benefits and withholding taxes/ TDS, and other applicable regulations.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, salary registers, and bank transfer statements.
- Manage payroll queries from employees and provide timely resolution.
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, and external vendors (if applicable) for smooth payroll operations.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of employee data.
- Assist in annual activities like bonus calculation, increments, full & final settlement, and income tax proofs.
- Support internal and external audits with payroll-related documentation.
Payroll accounting:
- Post payroll journal entries including salaries, wages, allowances, overtime, incentives, and statutory deductions.
- Reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts such as salaries payable, retirement benefits, leave encashment, professional tax (PT), and WHT/ TDS.
- Ensure timely booking of employer contributions and statutory dues.
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, and external vendors (if applicable) to validate payroll reports before accounting entries.
- Perform month-end and year-end payroll accruals for unpaid salaries, bonuses, and incentives.
- Support preparation of payroll-related MIS and analysis for management (cost by department, overtime trends, etc.).
- Liaise with internal and external auditors by providing payroll accounting schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, applicable accounting standards, and company policies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency in payroll accounting.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 2-3 years Proven working experience into
payroll processing and accounting
(preferably in a mid-to-large scale organization or shared services) - Hands-on experience in payroll software (e.g., ADP, SAP, Workday, PeopleSoft, or similar).
- Knowledge of labour laws, tax compliance, and statutory filings.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, reconciliation)
- Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
- Strong technology skills are critical, with expertise in Microsoft Excel.
- Prior experience of working in SAP is preferred.
- Flexibility to work in UK time zone.
- Prior experience to work into third party client set-up
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Payroll/HR certifications (e.g., SAP HR, HRMS-related) preferred.
