Education Qualification Essential : BE/ B Tech/M Tech in Computer Science/ Electronics & Communication / Electrical Engineering with 2-4 years of experience in relevant Tech Industry - wireless & telecom, software, semiconductors, digital/ IT with patent searching, analysis & prosecution experience. (from UGC/AICTE approved college/institute) Desirable/ pref .: Registered patent agent Work Experience a) Minimum of 3-6 years working with Intellectual Property b) 1. Should have experience in patent search databases such as Derwent Innovation, Orbit, etc. and on various analytics methodologies (novelty search, FTO, invalidation, technology search) and patent classification, SEP standards & related infringement analysis. 2. Candidate should have experience in retrieving legal/ prosecution related information from different Patent office s websites (such as USPTO PAIR and EP Register). c) Proficiency in SEP analysis in the field of Telecom architectures (WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G, 5G, LTE etc), wireless charging and audio/video technologies. d) Experience in Electric Vehicle hardware/software, Vehicular wireless communication systems, vehicular software architecture, connected cars, Battery system, ADAS, Telematics, Vehicle charging system, ECU, Digital applications etc. e) Preferably from Telecom/ Digital/ IT industry with IP experience Key Responsibilities 1. To educate, motivate engineers on creation and protection of intellectual property 2. To conduct ideation workshops and coordinate with various business functions for new idea generation/ submission 3. To work closely with R&D engineers to review ideas and enhance the IDF conversion rate to patents 4. To evaluate ideas for patentability and to identify/draft key features for patent protection 5. To perform relevant patent study with respect to patentability, Freedom to operate, Invalidation, State of art search and infringement on different technologies Competencies 1. Should have proficiency in Telecom architectures (WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G, 5G, LTE etc), wireless charging and audio/video technologies. 2. Should have good understanding of patent classifications, standard & patent databases such as Derwent Innovation , Orbit, etc. and on various patent analytics methodologies. 3. Candidate should have proficiency in retrieving legal/ prosecution related information from different patent office s websites (such as USPTO PAIR and EP Register). 4. Should have ability to analyze data both quantitatively and/or qualitatively and present analysis reports to the R&D management with quality standard. 5. Should have good understanding of Indian Patenting system. 6. Should have attitude to proactively develop understanding of diverse technology areas apart from his / her technical background and strong interpersonal skills Other requirements 1. Knowledge of Japanese patent law would be an added advantage 2. Good understanding of Automobile technology would be an added advantage
