Our client, a global leader in the materials science and manufacturing industry, is looking to hire experienced Patent Professionals to join their Intellectual Property team at the Patent Center of Excellence. Position : Patent Analyst Location : Balewadi, Pune (On-site) Experience : 5 to 8 years Education : Master’s degree (minimum) in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or Materials Scienc e. A Ph D or Chemical Engineerin g background is preferred About the Role : Ideal candidates will have prior experience from a reputed IP law firm, consulting firm, or in-house IP department, and a passion for working on niche domains and cutting-edge technologies. You will be supporting the global IP function and R&D community across the US, EU, and other regions by managing patent-related matters, including preparation, prosecution, risk evaluation, and strategic IP counseling aligned with business goals. Key Responsibilities: Review invention disclosures, counsel inventors, evaluate patentability, and scope inventive subject matter Draft patent claims and full patent applications aligned with business and technical strategy. Conduct patent searches, risk evaluations, and claim interpretations. Manage patent prosecution, including drafting responses to ISR/WOs and office actions across jurisdictions. Review prior art and conduct contextual comparisons with invention disclosures. Perform competitive IP landscape analysis and right-to-operate (RTO) / freedom-to-operate (FTO) studies. Map and chart claims for strategic evaluations and litigation-readiness. Collaborate closely with global R&D teams and stakeholders to identify IP opportunities and challenges. Qualifications: Master’s (or PhD preferred) in Chemi st ry, Polymer Sci ence, or Materials Sci ence, o r a bachelor’s in chemical engineering from a reputed institution. Minimum 5 years (maximum 8 years) of experience in patent prosecution, patent drafting, and analytics. Experience should be from a reputed IP law firm, consulting firm, or in-house legal/IP department. Desirable: Registration with the Indian Patent Bar.
