Pastry Chef

• Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and confectionery items.
• Develop and update dessert menus in collaboration with the culinary team.
• Ensure all pastry items are made to the highest quality and consistency standards.
• Decorate and present pastries and desserts attractively.
• Monitor inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Train and supervise junior pastry staff or commis chefs, if applicable.
• Experiment with new recipes, flavors, and techniques to innovate the dessert menu.
• Adjust recipes based on seasonal ingredient availability.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate dessert service timing.
• Follow proper storage and handling procedures for perishable items.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role in a professional kitchen.
• Formal culinary or pastry arts training preferred.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
• Creativity and artistic ability in dessert presentation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and precision in measurements and timing.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (ServSafe certification a plus).
• Strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to lift heavy bags of flour, sugar, and other baking supplies (up to 50 Kg).
• Manual dexterity for delicate decorating work.
