Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and confectionery items. Develop and update dessert menus in collaboration with the culinary team. Ensure all pastry items are made to the highest quality and consistency standards. Decorate and present pastries and desserts attractively. Monitor inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed. Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations. Train and supervise junior pastry staff or commis chefs, if applicable. Experiment with new recipes, flavors, and techniques to innovate the dessert menu. Adjust recipes based on seasonal ingredient availability. Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate dessert service timing. Follow proper storage and handling procedures for perishable items. Qualifications & Skills: Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role in a professional kitchen. Formal culinary or pastry arts training preferred. Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment. Creativity and artistic ability in dessert presentation. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and precision in measurements and timing. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (ServSafe certification a plus). Strong time-management and organizational skills. Ability to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods. Ability to lift heavy bags of flour, sugar, and other baking supplies (up to 50 Kg). Manual dexterity for delicate decorating work.
