Job Summary
This position identifies and manages all New Product Introduction (NPI) /New Market Introduction (NMI) programs for assigned product group. They communicate with product groups during collaboration meetings to determine product support and parts stocking strategies. Further, manages NPI parts inventory and availability to end customers.
What You Will Do
- Achieve Aftermarket NPI readiness at Gateway 6 (GW6)/first ship date for the new programs. Which includes 100% availability for critical parts and >97% availability for all serviceable parts and >97% NPI parts availability for NPI parts within sales region.
- Track upcoming NPI programs in the NPI authorizations database. Update Model Distribution Plans to cascade sales forecasts information to part level details used by analysts for parts stocking.
- Facilitate the Service Parts Blitz meetings to collaborate with the product group, service engineers, and related personnel in determining serviceability strategy for new content on NPI programs.
- Assist Parts Product Analysts (PPA) during new parts introduction and provide key information like, stocking plan, initial order quantities, and other parameters related to products and specific NPI programs. Escalate issues within the engineering teams such as missing data or late engineering releases.
- Manage inventory and parts availability at >95% for NPI parts.
Additional Information:
- Bachelor s degree in engineering / Math s / Science / Commerce.
- Caterpillar NPI Authorizations experience in Parts Inventory Management with background in parts distribution and Inventory Management Systems will be preferred.
- Strong customer focus and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people, in a fast paced, time-contained environment and ability to lead projects.
- APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification.
- Must be willing to work in US shift timing to have enough overlap with US-based process partners and product groups.

Manage daily/weekly service loss analysis and share RCCA for top loss parts.
Ensures that the inventory is at an appropriate level and meets both internal and external customer requirements. Reviews reports used for inventory management and initiates timely actions to mitigate the availability risk.
Provides guidance on inventory management for a specific product group and Parts Product Analysts.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
