Part Time -Kubernetes Platform Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Kubernetes Platform Engineer to design, build, and extend our Kubernetes compute platform. You will work closely with platform and development teams to establish best practices, enable smooth application onboarding, and ensure reliability of mission-critical systems. This role involves hands-on work with clusters, pods, nodes, controllers, networking, and developer productivity tools, along with on-call responsibilities for critical components.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and extend applications for our Kubernetes-based compute platform.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define standards and best practices.

Lead and support the migration and onboarding of applications onto Kubernetes.

Manage and optimize pods, clusters, nodes, controllers, and applications.

Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability with Prometheus and Grafana.

Drive GitOps workflows and CI/CD automation using ArgoCD.

Manage networking with Cilium and Calico for secure and scalable environments.

Enhance developer workflows and productivity using Devpods.

Participate in on-call rotations for critical platform services.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (clusters, pods, nodes, controllers).

Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD.

Solid understanding of observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana).

Knowledge of container networking solutions (Cilium, Calico).

Experience with developer tooling such as Devpods.

Proficiency in troubleshooting and optimizing distributed systems.

Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in large-scale production Kubernetes environments.

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

SRE/Platform engineering background with on-call support experience.

Knowledge of CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices.
