About The Opportunity
Industry: Industrial Electrical Manufacturing & Power Distribution. Sector: Control panel assembly, switchgear, and power distribution solutions for commercial and industrial customers across India. This is an on-site production role focused on high-quality panel build and wiring for distribution boards, motor control centers (MCC), and automation control panels.Standardized job title: Control Panel Wiring Technician (mapped from "Panel Wiremen"). Location: On-site — India.Role & Responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end control panel wiring and assembly: route cables, terminate conductors, install components, and complete panel internal wiring per drawings and BOM.
- Read and implement wiring and electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and wiring lists to ensure correct connections and functionality.
- Execute precise cable termination, crimping, ferrule application, and lugging using hand and powered tools to manufacturer torque specifications.
- Carry out electrical checks and functional tests (continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, power-up checks) using multimeters and meggers; record test results accurately.
- Maintain cable management and dressing standards — neat harnessing, labeling, gland installation, and routing for serviceability and safety.
- Follow shop floor quality and safety protocols, escalate non-conformances, and support final inspection and handover to commissioning teams.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- ITI/NCTVT or equivalent trade certification in Electrician/Electrical trade preferred or proven panel wiring experience.
- Hands-on experience with control panel wiring, MCCs, distribution panels, or electrical switchgear assembly.
- Proficient in interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and terminal schedules.
- Skilled in cable termination, crimping, ferrule application, and use of torque tools.
- Proven ability to perform multimeter-based continuity and insulation tests and document results.
- Familiarity with electrical safety practices, lockout-tagout (LOTO), and basic earthing procedures.
Preferred
- Experience with PLC/Control wiring and terminal block wiring for automation panels.
- Exposure to industrial electrical standards (IEC/IS) and panel testing procedures.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment with quality systems (5S, visual checks).
Benefits & Culture Highlights
- Stable, on-site manufacturing environment with clear shop-floor SOPs and safety-first culture.
- Opportunities for skill upskilling on control wiring and panel testing; potential internal progression to senior assembler or commissioning roles.
