Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Sampling & Testing

  • Receive, sample, and test packing materials (cartons, labels, foils, bottles, caps, PVC, PVDC, blisters, shippers, etc.) as per approved specifications.
  • Conduct identification, dimensional, physical, and chemical testing of materials as applicable.
  • Perform testing in line with pharmacopeia (IP/USP/BP/EP) and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure proper labelling, segregation, and status control of materials (Approved / Rejected / Under Test).

2. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain records of material testing in logbooks, worksheets, and LIMS systems.
  • Prepare Certificates of Analysis (COA) for packing materials.
  • Follow GDP (Good Documentation Practices) and cGMP at all times.
  • Handle OOS, deviations, and support investigations with CAPA implementation.

3. Audit & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure readiness for regulatory audits (USFDA, WHO, MHRA, CDSCO, etc.) and customer inspections.
  • Maintain packing material specifications, STPs, and SOPs.
  • Ensure compliance with data integrity principles (ALCOA+).

4. Coordination

  • Work closely with the warehouse team for material sampling and segregation.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and QA in case of material rejection or supplier quality issues.
  • Support vendor qualification activities by providing test data and feedback.

5. Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure safe handling of solvents, inks, and other testing reagents.
  • Participate in laboratory safety programs and maintain EHS compliance.
  • Suggest improvements in testing procedures to reduce turnaround time.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: B.Sc. / M.Sc. (Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry) / B.Pharm / M.Pharm
  • Experience: 1–2 years in QC – Packing Material Testing (Pharma Industry)
  • Knowledge of primary, secondary, and tertiary packing materials used in pharma.
  • Familiarity with pharmacopeial guidelines, regulatory requirements, and cGMP.
  • Good documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in shifts if required.

  • On-time testing and release of packing materials
  • Compliance with specifications and zero regulatory observations
  • Reduction in rejections, OOS, and deviations
  • Supplier quality feedback and improvement support
  • Accuracy and timeliness of documentation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
