Position Summary:

Packaging Development Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage

  end-to-end packaging development

  activities from concept to commercialization for various pharmaceutical dosage forms (OSD, injectables, DPI).
• Drive

  material selection

  , develop

  packaging specifications

  , and optimize packaging solutions for stability, functionality, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct and oversee

  line trials, transport simulations, and compatibility studies

  to validate packaging materials and designs.
• Ensure all packaging components meet

  USFDA, EU, and other regulated market standards

  , including documentation for dossiers and submissions.
• Collaborate closely with

  R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Procurement, Production

  , and

  Marketing

  teams to provide integrated packaging solutions.
• Lead initiatives focused on

  cost optimization, sustainability, and innovation

  in packaging design and materials.
• Manage and develop relationships with

  vendors and packaging material suppliers

  , ensuring quality, compliance, and continuity of supply.
• Participate in the

  technology transfer

  process and ensure packaging readiness for scale-up and commercial manufacturing.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date

  SOPs, BOMs, artworks, and master packaging records

  in compliance with cGMP and company standards.
• Monitor and implement

  emerging trends, eco-friendly practices, serialization

  , and digital packaging solutions.

Educational Qualifications:

• B.Tech / M.Tech / M.Sc. in Packaging Technology or Packaging Science

  from:

• Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP)

• GCET (G. H. Patel College of Engineering & Technology)

• CEPT University (Gujarat)

• Or other

  reputed Indian institutes

  offering specialized programs in

  Packaging Technology / Materials Science / Printing & Packaging

  .

Experience:

• Minimum

  10 years

  of relevant experience in

  pharmaceutical packaging development

  , preferably with exposure to

  regulated markets (US, EU, ROW)

  .
• Hands-on experience with

  primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging

  development.
• Experience with packaging for

  Oncology, Critical Care, or Injectable products

  will be an added advantage.
• Proven experience in

  handling audits and responding to regulatory queries

  related to packaging.

Skills & Competencies:

• Deep understanding of

  packaging materials, barrier properties, packaging lines, and validation protocols

  .
• Familiarity with

  packaging design software

  and tools for prototyping and simulation.
• Strong

  project management skills

  with the ability to manage multiple development projects simultaneously.
• Excellent

  analytical, documentation, and communication skills

  .
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive collaboration across departments.
• Awareness and proactive approach towards

  sustainable packaging solutions

  .

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• Willing to be based out of

  Baroda or Mumbai

  .
• Background in

  pharma or life sciences packaging

  with a strong compliance orientation.
• Ability to travel to plant sites and vendor locations as per project requirements.
