Job Description: Ophthalmology Outpatient (OP) Nurse Position Summary The Ophthalmology OP Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients in the outpatient eye clinic. The role involves assisting ophthalmologists during eye examinations and minor procedures, performing diagnostic tests, preparing patients, administering medications, and ensuring smooth clinic workflow while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety. --- Key Responsibilities Patient Assessment & Care Receive, triage, and prepare patients for ophthalmic examinations. Educate patients on eye conditions, medications, and postoperative instructions. Provide support to patients with low vision or mobility issues. Clinical & Technical Duties Assist ophthalmologists during slit-lamp exams, fundus examinations, and minor OP procedures. Administer eye drops, dilating agents, and medications as prescribed. Prepare, clean, and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment. Procedure Assistance Support minor OT procedures done in OP settings (e.g., foreign body removal, chalazion drainage, laser procedures). Ensure proper sterilization of instruments and adherence to infection control protocols. Documentation & Coordination Maintain accurate records of patient care, tests, and treatment plans. Coordinate patient flow to ensure smooth functioning of the outpatient department. Facilitate referrals, follow-ups, and patient scheduling. Safety & Quality Ensure compliance with hospital safety standards and ophthalmic care guidelines. Monitor and manage inventory of drugs, eye drops --- Qualifications

Diploma in Ophthalmic Nursing (preferred). Experience in ophthalmology OPD is an advantage but not always mandatory. --- Key Skills Strong knowledge of eye anatomy and common ophthalmic conditions. Ability to operate ophthalmic diagnostic equipment. Good communication and patient-handling skills. Attention to detail and patient safety. Ability to work in a fast-paced OP setting. --- Work Environment Ophthalmology outpatient department of a hospital, eye clinic, or eye care center.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹17,000.00 per month
