Job Summary:

The Head of Operations is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and management of hospital operations to ensure high-quality patient care, cost-effective practices, and regulatory compliance. This role focuses on streamlining processes, managing multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the smooth functioning of daily operations across clinical and non-clinical departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Operational Leadership:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the hospitals mission and objectives.
  • Drive efficiency, productivity, and performance improvements across departments.
  • Collaborate with senior management to create and execute strategic plans for growth and development.

Process & Quality Management:

  • Oversee the implementation of SOPs, protocols, and policies to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Monitor KPIs and performance metrics to ensure service excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, standards, and accreditation requirements (e.g., NABH, JCI).

Resource & Infrastructure Management:

  • Optimize utilization of hospital resources (staff, equipment, space).
  • Coordinate with biomedical and facility management teams to maintain hospital infrastructure.
  • Supervise procurement and inventory management in coordination with supply chain teams.

People Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of department heads and support staff.
  • Promote a collaborative work culture and support staff development.
  • Handle workforce planning, training, and performance reviews.

Patient Services & Experience:

  • Ensure smooth functioning of patient-facing departments (OPD, IPD, Emergency, Billing, etc.).
  • Drive initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and hospital reputation.
  • Resolve escalated patient grievances promptly and effectively.

Financial & Budget Oversight:

  • Assist in annual budgeting and cost control initiatives.
  • Monitor operational expenses and identify areas for savings.
  • Work closely with finance to ensure revenue cycle efficiency and profitability.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:

    Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field (MBA/MHA preferred).
  • Experience:

    10+ years in hospital operations or healthcare management, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of hospital workflows, compliance, and healthcare regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex operations.
