Operations Manager-EV Charging

Job Purpose:

To manage and oversee the daily operations of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across Chennai. Ensure optimal uptime, operational efficiency, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction for all charging stations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee end-to-end operations of EV charging stations across Chennai.
  
• Monitor charging station uptime and ensure preventive and corrective maintenance.
  
• Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and utility companies for infrastructure support.
  
• Manage on-ground teams including field technicians and support staff.
  
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as station uptime, energy dispensed, customer usage, etc.
  
• Handle customer escalations and ensure resolution within SLAs.
  
• Plan and execute station expansion and upgrades in coordination with project and engineering teams.
  
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
  
• Optimize operational costs and drive efficiency through process improvements.
  
• Maintain inventory and logistics for spare parts and consumables.
  

Key Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical preferred) or equivalent.
  

Experience:

• 5–8 years of experience in operations management, preferably in EV charging, electrical infrastructure, or similar field service domains.
  
• Experience in team leadership and vendor management is essential.
  

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  
• Proficiency in operations tools and dashboards (SCADA, CMMS, Excel, etc.).
  
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  
• Willingness to travel across locations in Chennai.
  
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  

Preferred:

• Prior experience with EV infrastructure.
  
• Knowledge of EV charging technologies and standards (e.g., Type 2, CCS, CHAdeMO).
  
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements (CEA, DISCOM norms, etc.).
