Job Description

The Operations Manager in the Banking industry based in Mumbai/Nasik is responsible for overseeing day-to-day banking operations. You will ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, enhance process efficiency, and provide support to branch teams in delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires a deep understanding of operational processes, effective people management abilities, and the implementation of systems to manage risks and ensure compliance. Your key responsibilities will include supervising and managing daily operations of one or multiple branches, ensuring smooth execution of operational banking activities such as account opening, cash transactions, cheque clearances, and fund transfers. You will be responsible for monitoring operational performance metrics, maintaining process adherence, and ensuring strict compliance with KYC/AML norms, internal policies, and audit requirements. Conducting regular branch audits and surprise checks to prevent operational lapses is also part of your role. Additionally, you will support branch staff in resolving operational issues, enhancing customer service delivery, and managing escalations to ensure timely resolution of customer grievances. Identifying and mitigating operational risks through internal controls, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training will be essential, along with ensuring secure handling of cash and sensitive banking information. As an Operations Manager, you will guide and mentor operations staff, oversee training and skill development, and optimize staffing and team productivity across branches. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree (preferably in commerce, finance, or business) with an MBA being preferred. A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in banking operations, particularly in a supervisory/managerial role, is required. Proficiency in banking systems (CBS, Finacle, etc.), knowledge of banking processes and regulations, strong leadership, communication, decision-making skills, and proficiency in MS Office and banking software are also necessary for this role. This is a permanent position that requires in-person work at the designated locations.,
