Job Description

Due to a department restructure, NHS Golden Jubilee is seeking a Radiographer with strong leadership and organisational skills for the role of Operational Lead Radiographer. Full time is desired but 0.8 WTE may be considered for the right candidate. The GJUNH provides essential waiting times imaging for all Health Boards in NHS Scotland, along with specialist imaging services as the West of Scotland Cardiothoracic Centre and also supports the NHS Golden Jubilee site by providing in-patient imaging. The department currently has 4 MRI Scanners, 2 CT scanners (with a third coming online in August), 5 Cardiac Cath Labs, 3 Ultrasound Rooms, 4 plain film rooms, 1 Dexa Scanner, 1 dual purpose Imaging/Fluoroscopy room, as well as numerous Image Intensifiers and mobile units. Radiology also hosts the National Ultrasound Training Programme within our unit. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the department on a day-to-day basis, considerate of skill mix, clinical prioritisation and safe staffing levels. Joining a wider team of skilled and supportive Modality Lead Radiographers, you will form part of the collaborative leadership team to address routine issues and shape the Radiography department for the future, whilst maintaining your clinical skills. The successful candidate should expect to work with a high level of autonomy to ensure departmental administration is completed to strict deadlines and ensure local policies and procedures are maintained. With direct reporting and line management responsibilities, highly developed emotional intelligence is crucial for success in this role. The department has a structured CPD programme; clinical supervision and VBRP are developing under the Board-approved AHP strategy. Post Graduate learning and conference attendance are supported on a regular basis. Developing leadership skills through coaching, mentoring and formal learning opportunities are available and candidates should have a passion for quality improvement.
