Onboarding Engineer- MSP- 7+years- Remote

About the Role

Were looking for a highly motivated Onboarding Engineer to join our Managed Services team. In this role, you will act as the technical project driver, ensuring new clients transition smoothly into our managed services ecosystem. You will own the onboarding process end-to-end—from infrastructure discovery to tool deployment and documentation—working closely with the PMO, internal teams, and client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure & Platform Deployment: Configure and integrate client infrastructure for monitoring, including Network, Servers, Storage, Backup, Data Protection, Hyperconverged systems, and ESXi. Deploy and configure monitoring platforms such as Elastic Stack, LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, or similar tools. Install and configure MSP management and automation tools for seamless service delivery.
• Project Ownership & Execution: Act as the technical lead for onboarding projects, collaborating with PMO and engineering teams to define scope, timelines, and deliverables. Drive the execution of onboarding plans and communicate project status and milestones to stakeholders.
• Technical Assessment & Discovery: Conduct on-site and remote discovery to assess client IT environments. Identify gaps, compliance risks, and areas for optimization before service handover.
• Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Create detailed client technical documentation, including environment diagrams, SOPs, and configuration records. Ensure smooth knowledge transfer to internal support teams and serve as a point of escalation for monitoring issues during onboarding.
• End-User & Transition Support: Provide initial technical support to resolve issues during the transition phase and ensure operational continuity.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: Minimum 7+ years in IT infrastructure, system administration, or MSP environments (with at least 5+ years in Windows/Linux enterprise support). Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Certificates. Linux OS configuration and troubleshooting is a plus.
• Technical Expertise: Monitoring tools (Elastic Stack, LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, or similar). Infrastructure technologies: Networking, Backup, Storage, Hyperconverged platforms.
• Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong client interaction experience. Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and work independently with minimal oversight. Strong sense of urgency and results-oriented mindset.
• Education: Degree in Information Systems or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Preferred: Managed Services or Consulting experience.
