Okta Engineer (freelance/Panelist)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Okta Engineer to design, implement, and manage our Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in Okta, responsible for the architecture, deployment, and maintenance of our Okta environment. This role is critical in ensuring secure and seamless access to applications and systems for our organization. You will be responsible for single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and lifecycle management to enhance our security posture and user experience. 

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain the Okta platform, including SSO, MFA, and Universal Directory. 
• Integrate applications, both cloud-based and on-premises, with Okta for centralized access management. 
• Develop and manage Okta policies, workflows, and automation for user lifecycle management (joiners, movers, leavers). 
• Collaborate with IT, security, and application teams to gather requirements and implement Okta solutions. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Okta integrations and user access. 
• Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and end-users on Okta-related matters. 
• Stay current with new Okta features and best practices to continuously improve the IAM program. 
• Develop and maintain documentation for Okta configurations, processes, and procedures. 
• Ensure compliance with security policies and standards in all Okta implementations. 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience:

  7+ years of hands-on experience with Okta in an enterprise environment. 

• Technical Skills:

    
• In-depth knowledge of Okta products including Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Universal Directory, and Lifecycle Management. 
• Experience with authentication protocols such as SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect. 
• Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript for automation. 
• Understanding of Active Directory, LDAP, and other directory services. 
• Familiarity with API security and management. 

• Certifications (Nice-to-Have):

  Okta Certified Professional, Okta Certified Administrator. 

• Soft Skills:

  Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to work collaboratively across teams.
