NPI Product Specialist
Position Overview:
The NPI (New Product Introduction) Product Specialist will play a key role in supporting new product development and expanding the company s product portfolio. This role requires strong analytical, technical, and collaboration skills to identify new opportunities, manage product data, and support product launches. The Product Specialist will work cross-functionally with Product Development, IT, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Quality, and Operations to ensure successful product introductions and ongoing product support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify new product development opportunities through industry, vendor, and competitor data.
- Gather and analyze market trends, cross-references, and vehicle application information to support product approvals and launches.
- Provide technical information, product specifications, application data, and assembly guidelines to internal teams and customers.
- Support Sales teams by assisting with product introductions and category expansion initiatives.
- Address and resolve technical queries from customers regarding both existing and new products.
- Develop and suggest packaging guidelines aligned with customer and sourcing requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Purchasing, Sales, Operations, IT, and Marketing) to resolve vendor or product concerns.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and alignment with business needs.
- Contribute to team objectives and overall product development goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Prior experience in product management, marketing, procurement, or data analysis.
- Automotive or heavy-duty aftermarket experience strongly preferred (engines, suspension, transmission, body parts, etc.).
- Previous B2B or B2C experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze market data and identify product opportunities.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Technical & Skills Proficiency:

Automotive Parts Expertise
Strong knowledge of heavy-duty parts and aftermarket products to ensure product accuracy and alignment with industry standards. -
Excel-Based Data Management
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (LOOKUP, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting, delimited files, data manipulation) and strong PowerPoint skills. -
Customer Collaboration
Ability to translate customer needs into product requirements and ensure product data aligns with system and business requirements. -
Communication
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present and work effectively across all organizational levels. -
Time Management
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines. - Positive attitude, self-driven, and collaborative team player with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
