NPD Engineer

As an NPD Engineer for Desert Cooler Manufacturing, your role involves leading the New Product Development (NPD) process for Desert Coolers. Your responsibilities will include product design, prototyping, testing, supplier management, cost optimization, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Your innovative approach and technical expertise will be crucial in delivering energy-efficient, reliable, and market-ready cooling products within specified timelines. Key Responsibilities: - Develop innovative cooler designs in line with market trends such as energy efficiency, style, and compactness. - Ensure compliance with BIS, ISI, and BEE energy rating standards. - Introduce advanced features like inverter compatibility, low power consumption, and silent operation. - Build and validate prototypes within project timelines, conducting various tests for performance validation. - Optimize Bill of Materials (BOM) to achieve target costs, identify alternate vendors, and drive component localization. - Finalize moulds, jigs, fixtures, and assembly line setups for process and tooling readiness. - Validate design through environmental tests and ensure quality and reliability through rigorous testing. - Deliver new product launches within agreed timelines, overseeing smooth ramp-up to mass production. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. - 4 years of experience in New Product Development, with a total of 5 years of experience. As an ideal candidate, you should possess: - Strong technical expertise in appliance product development. - Good knowledge of cooling systems, motors, pumps, and material validation. - Excellent project management and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work under tight deadlines with cross-functional teams.
