Key Responsibilities;
Analyze customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements
Prepare detailed cost estimates for components
Calculate machining cycle time, setup time, tooling cost, and inspection cost
Estimate raw material cost based on grade, size, and yield
Prepare quotations for RFQs within defined timelines
Coordinate with production, programming, quality, and purchase teams
Evaluate make vs buy decisions
Support price negotiations with customers and suppliers
Maintain costing databases and standard cost sheets
Review actual vs estimated costs and suggest improvements
Assist NPD team in cost feasibility and target costing
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization
Required Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes (Turning, Milling, VMC, HMC)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
Understanding of cutting tools, fixtures, and machining strategies
Knowledge of materials (MS, SS, Aluminum, Brass, Alloys, etc.)
Costing techniques and break-even analysis
Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems
Analytical thinking and attention to detail
Good communication and coordination skills
