Roles and Responsibilities: Provide 24x7 support for NOC operations, continuously monitoring global IT infrastructure and services. Monitor infrastructure components including servers, cloud services, network devices, communication links, storage, backup devices, telephony systems, and applications. Utilize monitoring tools to track server uptime, performance, and system health (CPU, memory, disk usage). Respond to s related to service outages or performance degradation and take necessary actions. Regularly check system logs for errors and issues. User Account Management - Create, modify, and delete users/groups, reset passwords, and manage permissions. Perform basic troubleshooting for common IT issues (e.g., printer problems, file access, network connectivity). Monitor ESXi host health and performance metrics, manage basic VM operations (start, stop, reset), and troubleshoot ESXi-related issues. Oversee database health and performance for SQL Server and Oracle, verify backup jobs, and perform basic restores. Manage storage system health , ensuring sufficient capacity and performance. Maintain and troubleshoot Active Directory services using tools like Event Viewer and AD Replication Status. AWS Monitoring: Track EC2 instance health via CloudWatch, manage S3 bucket usage, permissions, policies, versioning, and encryption. Respond to CloudWatch s for EC2, RDS, and S3 services. Network Monitoring: Track network device health (routers, firewalls), respond to s, and troubleshoot connectivity/performance issues. Oversee email system health , including monitoring queues and delivery status. Monitor Cisco ISE and Cisco Umbrella for security events, network activity, and authentication issues. Ensure regular backups of infrastructure components and perform basic restore operations when necessary. Incident Handling: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve basic issues across servers, networking, cloud, databases, and storage. Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams as needed. Tools and Technologies: Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, Zabbix, Datadog, and AWS CloudWatch . Proficiency in VMware (ESXi), AWS, Azure, SQL Server, Oracle, Active Directory, and backup solutions . Knowledge of basic network troubleshooting and configuration . Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP) and cloud-based backups. Required Skills: Basic understanding of networking concepts (OSI model, routing, VLANs). Strong communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders. Proactive approach to incident resolution and minimizing downtime . Ability to prioritize tasks , troubleshoot effectively, and escalate when necessary. Experience & Certifications: 2-4 years of experience in a NOC or similar role , supporting IT infrastructure (servers, databases, cloud systems).
