New Economy Director

Our client, a leading organization in finance and news and media industry, is looking for a sharp, detail-oriented New Economy Director who will be responsible for overseeing and strengthening key relationships, ensuring seamless execution of strategic initiatives, and driving operational excellence in the build up to the Economy Forum. This is a 12-month contract role based in Mumbai/Delhi and candidates are expected to be onsite.

The role involves planning, coordination, and communication between our Client and partner teams, ensuring timely delivery of projects and smooth execution of the forum. Responsibilities include facilitating meetings, addressing partner feedback, and maintaining year-round account management in collaboration with internal teams. The role also supports product development tailored to the Indian media market, acts as a cultural ambassador to bridge local practices with global standards, and collaborates on VIP curation and outreach efforts.

The ideal candidate will thrive in high pressure environments, experience of working with government agencies and managing high level officials with government delegations for the execution of events. The candidate should have experience in project management, leading complex projects and partnering with senior stakeholders and ideally worked within a news organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary ownership of the day-to-day relationship with key ministries and stakeholders, in conjunction with local bureau and global leadership
• Facilitate, join & act as the primary contact between Client’s New Economy Forum & local government and corporate partners, with a goal to strengthen ties and help unlock opportunities for New Economy, and Client’s Media at large in collaboration with APAC lead
• Drive the planning, process, communication and understanding between our Client and local partner teams
• Elevate host partner feedback and any issues to concerned team for continuous improvement.
• Initiate, own and run client status meetings, presentations and other meetings as needed to accomplish objectives
• Working with wider government team to map local requirements for forum execution; have a high-level oversight of project plan and detailed timelines, ensuring on time delivery both on the Client’s side and partner side
• Provide year-round day-to day relationship & account management, in partnership with Media Commercial lead of all entities within local government as related to New Economy
• Be an active resource for Client’s Media team to help develop new products & tailor existing products to the Indian media market
• Act as a cultural ambassador and liaison, upskilling the wider team members to understand and respect local customs and outreach processes
• Collaborate with audience team on local VIP curation and outreach

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience working with government agencies and managing high level officials with government delegations for the execution of events
• Demonstrated experience in project management, with experience leading complex projects and partnering with senior stakeholders
• Worked within an event or news organization and understand the importance of independent and fact-based journalism
