A role within the Healthcare — Tertiary Care & Surgical Services sector serving patients in Andhra Pradesh. This is an on-site consultant-level clinical opportunity for an experienced neurosurgeon to lead operative and outpatient neurosurgical services at a multi-specialty hospital in Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh.Role & Responsibilities
- Provide independent consultant-level care for elective and emergency neurosurgical patients across cranial and spinal pathologies, including pre-op assessment, operative management, and post-op care.
- Perform complex microsurgical procedures: cranial tumor resections, spinal decompressions and instrumentations, neuroendoscopic procedures, CSF diversion, and vascular interventions as indicated.
- Lead neurotrauma management in the emergency setting, coordinate with anesthesia and critical care teams for neurocritical care and perioperative optimization.
- Supervise and mentor junior surgeons, residents, and theatre staff; contribute to surgical training and case reviews to maintain clinical governance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (neuro-oncology, neuroradiology, neurorehabilitation, anesthesiology) to plan patient-centric care pathways and participate in tumor board and case conferences.
- Ensure compliance with surgical safety standards, documentation, infection control protocols, and participate in quality-improvement initiatives and morbidity/mortality reviews.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MCh in Neurosurgery (or equivalent higher surgical qualification) and MBBS with valid registration in India.
- Proven operative experience managing cranial and spinal cases independently in a tertiary-care setting.
- Familiarity with neurocritical care protocols and perioperative management of neurosurgical patients.
- Strong competence in microsurgical techniques and use of intraoperative monitoring and neuronavigation systems.
- Ability to handle emergency neurotrauma and on-call surgical responsibilities.
- Excellent documentation standards and adherence to clinical governance and patient-safety protocols.
Preferred
- Experience in vascular neurosurgery (aneurysm/AVM management) or endovascular collaboration.
- Prior consultant experience in a high-volume tertiary or teaching hospital.
- Exposure to minimally invasive spinal surgery and advanced neuroendoscopy.
