Network & Security Engineer (Level 2)

Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive Level 2 Network & Security Engineer to join our 247 NOC operations team. You will be the primary technical escalation point for our US-based clients, managing campus and data-center networks, firewalls, and related security infrastructure. Strong verbal and written communication skills are mandatory, as is the ability to lead the NOC shift and coordinate effectively with vendor TAC support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the NOC shift, review and authorize case actions from the      L1 team, and enrich technical responses.
- Investigate and mitigate network and security alerts, problems,      and incidents.
- Track and improve KPIs like Time to Acknowledge (TTA) and Mean      Time to Resolution (MTTR).
- Act as the escalation point of contact for L1 NOC resources.
- Work with the onshore NOC manager to identify gaps in service      delivery and improve responses.
- Provide 2nd-level phone and email support, triage and      troubleshoot complex network and security incidents.
- Manage vendor TAC engagements (Aruba, Juniper, Cisco, Meraki,      Palo Alto, Fortinet) and log RMAs.
- Create and maintain account playbooks:
- Account summaries & access procedures
- Asset inventory and documentation
- Network diagrams (Visio, Lucid chart, etc.)
- Onboard new clients into monitoring and ticketing platforms.
- Prepare quarterly NOC reports (per-account SLA statistics,      incident trends).
- Document all work in the ITSM/ticketing system with clear,      concise write-ups.
- Contribute to knowledge-based articles and process      improvements.
- Participate in shift rotations and on-call schedules, including      weekends and non-business hours.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, particularly around change      management systems and approval workflows.
- Hands-on experience in performing firmware and software      upgrades on security and network devices such as Palo Alto, Fortinet      firewalls, Juniper, Aruba, and Cisco platforms.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in network and security      engineering within a NOC or data center environment.
- Bachelors degree in computer science, IT, or related field, or      equivalent work experience.
- One professional level Networking Certification  CCNP, JNCIS, HPE ANCP Datacenter, etc
- One firewall certification (PCNSE, FCSS, CCSE, CCNP SECURITY,      etc.)
- Experience with these platforms below:
- Aruba (including ClearPass), Juniper, Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto,       Fortinet
- Proven ability to work with vendor TAC support and manage      hardware RMAs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skillsmust be liaising      directly with US-based stakeholders.
- Experience operating in a 247 NOC environment and handling      on-call rotations.
- Familiarity with ITSM/ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira,      ManageEngine).
Technical Skills
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN (VLANs, 802.1q, STP,      EIGRP, OSPF, BGP).
- Hands-on experience with firewall and security services (VPN,      IDS/IPS, web proxy, anti-malware).
- Strong knowledge in networking monitoring, including SNMP, SNMP      WALK, SNMP Traps, and WMI.
- Proficiency with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds,      ManageEngine, etc.).
- Comfortable with documentation and diagramming tools (Visio,      Lucidchart, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Good-to-Have Qualifications
- Desktop/server certifications (MCP, RHCSA).
- Experience with Linux/Windows server administration.
- Exposure to wireless LAN (Aruba/HPE) and network access control      (ClearPass).
- Team or shift lead experience.
