Onsite Deployment & Installation (Rack and Stack)
- Perform rack and stack installation of network and server hardware including switches, routers, servers, and access points (APs).
- Install SFP modules, stacking cables, power cords, and network uplinks as per design and project requirements.
- Ensure proper labeling, cable management, and adherence to rack design and airflow guidelines.
- Mount devices (up to 3 meters in height) securely and safely, following all EHS standards.
Device Configuration & IOS Upgrade
- Execute IOS/firmware upgrades and confirm version compliance post-upgrade.
- Validate successful device boot, configuration integrity, and module recognition.
- Collaborate with remote engineers for configuration application, testing, and verification.
Device Health Check & Validation (POST)
- Conduct Power-On Self-Test (POST) validation for each installed device.
- Verify interface status, module health, LED indicators, and power redundancy.
- Identify and report any faulty or non-functional hardware for immediate escalation.
Wireless Access Point (AP) Installation
- Mount and connect APs at designated locations according to deployment plans.
- Ensure secure installation, correct positioning, and power/connectivity validation.
- Note: This role does not include site surveys or signal validationinstallation only.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate logs of all installed devices, serial numbers, and cable details.
- Update rack elevation diagrams and cable matrices post-installation.
- Provide before-and-after photos and summary reports for delivery validation and audit purposes.
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with remote implementation, NOC, and project teams for connectivity testing and verification.
- Communicate installation status, issues, and dependencies proactively.
- Escalate site access, hardware, or environmental issues promptly to the Service Delivery Manager.
Client Interaction & SLA Accountability
- Act as the onsite technical representative, maintaining professional communication with the client during installation and testing activities.
- Ensure all activities are executed within defined SLAs, maintaining adherence to schedule, quality, and operational standards.
- Participate in service review meetings when required, presenting progress updates, risks, and completion reports.
- Document client feedback and ensure action plans are executed for continual service improvement.
- Uphold client satisfaction through transparent communication, professional conduct, and technical accuracy in all deliverables.
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco, Fortinet, and Aruba network devices (Switches, Routers, Wireless APs).
- Knowledge of L2/L3 networking concepts such as VLANs, trunking, link aggregation, and routing fundamentals.
- Experience with firmware/IOS upgrades, device health checks, and configuration validation.
- Familiar with rack standards, structured cabling, grounding, and ESD compliance.
- Ability to interpret network diagrams, rack layouts, and cable schedules.
- Understanding of ITIL service operations and SLA-driven delivery frameworks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in on-site network installation or service delivery engineering.
- Practical experience with Cisco IOS or equivalent enterprise network operating systems.
- Proven track record in executing rack installation, IOS upgrades, and post-installation validation.
- Experience with ServiceNow or ITSM ticketing systems preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Physical & Site Requirements
- Ability to lift and install equipment (up to 10–15 kg).
- Comfortable working at installation heights up to 3 meters.
- Compliance with all site safety, ESD, and physical handling protocols.
