Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Network Routing & Switching (On-Premises):

Design, implement, and manage
enterprise-level LAN/WAN networks
, including core and edge routing and switching.
Configure and manage network devices such as
routers, switches, and load balancers
.
Perform
network troubleshooting and fault isolation
for issues related to latency, packet loss, or device failures.
Monitor and optimize network performance using standard
network monitoring tools
.
Implement
VLANs, VRFs, ACLs
, and secure network architectures.
Configure routing protocols such as
BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
, and static routes for redundancy and performance.
Manage
VPNs, MPLS, and SD-WAN
for connectivity between branch offices, data centers, and cloud networks.
Maintain detailed
network documentation
(topologies, configurations, and procedures).

2. Azure Cloud Networking:

Design and deploy
secure, scalable Azure Virtual Networks (VNets)
, subnets, and NSGs.
Implement
Azure VPN Gateway
and
ExpressRoute
for hybrid cloud connectivity.
Manage
Azure Load Balancer
,
Traffic Manager
, and
Application Gateway (WAF)
for traffic distribution and security.
Configure and troubleshoot
Azure Firewall
,
Network Watcher
, and
Azure Bastion
.
Monitor cloud network performance using
Azure Monitor
,
NPM
, and
Log Analytics
.
Manage
Azure DNS
, IP addressing, and network governance.
Support cloud-native services like
Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
and
Azure App Services
from a networking perspective.

Technical Skills:

Routing Protocols:
BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Static Routing
Switching:
VLANs, Trunking, Spanning Tree, Port Channeling, QoS
Security:
Firewalls, VPNs, ACLs, NSGs, Azure Firewall
Cloud Networking:
VNets, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Load Balancer, Traffic Manager, DNS
Automation:
Terraform, Ansible, or Azure Automation for network provisioning
Monitoring Tools:
Wireshark, SolarWinds, Azure Network Watcher, NPM
Hybrid Networking:
Strong understanding of hybrid network integration between on-premises and Azure
