Role & responsibilities

L2 Support Engineer Networking

1. OLT & Access Network Support

• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot

  OLT platforms (GPON/EPON)

  .
• Perform ONU provisioning, activation, and service profile verification.
  
• Diagnose and resolve fiber access issues, signal losses, and provisioning failures.
  
• Work with vendor tools/EMS for OLT management.
  

2. Switch & Layer-2 Networking Support

• Configure and troubleshoot

  managed L2/L3 switches

  (VLANs, STP, trunking, port security).
• Assist with network segmentation, access control, and service delivery on the switching layer.
  
• Escalate hardware failures or complex issues to L3 or vendor support.
  

3. IPTV & Service Troubleshooting

• Provide L2 support for

  IPTV service issues

  including multicast, channel freezing, buffering, and middleware-related problems.
• Diagnose end-to-end IPTV flow: headend core access customer premises.
  
• Coordinate with content teams and platform specialists for persistent issues.
  

4. Network Operations & Incident Handling

• Handle escalated tickets from L1 team and ensure timely resolution within SLA.
  
• Perform root-cause analysis for repeated or major incidents.
  
• Monitor network performance using NMS/NOC tools.
  
• Document issues, solutions, and standard operating procedures.
  

5. Shift-Work Responsibilities

• Work in

  rotational 3-shift schedule

  (Morning / Evening / Night).
• Ensure proper handover of ongoing tasks during shift change.
  
• Provide real-time support for outages, emergency configurations, and escalation processes.

Preferred candidate profile

• Certifications such as

  CCNA, JNCIA, HCIA, GPON Certification

  .
• Knowledge of broadband technologies (PPPoE, DHCP, NAT).
  
• Basic scripting knowledge for automation (Python, shell) is a plus.
  
• Experience in ISP, MSO, or telecom networks preferred.

Work Environment:

• 247 shift-based role (3 rotational shifts).
  
• May require occasional extended hours or on-call support during major outages.
