Project Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled MS SQL Database Architect to lead a strategic project aimed at restructuring a large monolithic SQL Server database into multiple smaller databases while maintaining data integrity. The role also involves migration of data from one geographical database instance (East DB) to another (West DB), followed by migrating the structured SQL data into MongoDB with support from the development team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement the split of a large MS SQL database into multiple smaller databases while preserving data integrity and relationships.
• Design and execute complex T-SQL scripts for data manipulation, transformation, and reporting.
• Develop and maintain SQL scripting standards and implement version control for database objects and scripts using Git or equivalent tools.
• Plan and lead the migration of data from East DB to West DB and decommission the source.
• Collaborate with the development team to migrate structured data from MS SQL to MongoDB and support schema mapping and transformation logic.
• Analyze existing database environments and propose optimized migration strategies.
• Identify and mitigate data migration risks and performance bottlenecks.
• Create detailed technical documentation including migration plans, data flow diagrams, and architectural decisions.
• Engage with cross-functional stakeholders (DBAs, Developers, Architects, Business Analysts) to align database initiatives with overall project goals.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in database design and data migration.

Required Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with

  MS SQL Server

• Expertise in

  data modeling

• Experience with

  database refactoring/splitting

• Working knowledge of
