Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Mortgage Underwriter, located in Chennai. The Mortgage Underwriter will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing mortgage applications, evaluating borrowers' creditworthiness, and ensuring loans meet regulatory and organizational standards. Day-to-day tasks include examining financial documents, assessing risks, and making loan approval decisions. Collaboration with team members and stakeholders to ensure expedient and accurate underwriting is a key component of this role.

Qualifications

• Experience and expertise in Mortgage Industry, Mortgage Underwriting, and Underwriting processes
• Strong knowledge of Mortgages and related policies and procedures
• Excellent Analytical Skills with the ability to evaluate financial documents and assess risks accurately
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining compliance with regulatory and organizational guidelines
• Proficiency in using underwriting software and tools is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with teams and stakeholders
• Relevant certifications or formal training in mortgage or underwriting fields would be an advantage
