Job Purpose
The role of the midwife is to prepare and implement AMAL initiative, Young Mother Club (YMC), for female beneficiaries at IYD WGSSs in Salqin/ Eskat and Dana/Babisqa.The midwife will work closely with GBV team (GBV specialist in HQ, field GBV supervisor, and GBV case managers) to co-facilitate YMC awareness sessions and cover the field related to sexual and reproductive health. She will also contribute to the M&E activities along with the GBV supervisor and MEAL focal points as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Introduce the SRH services to target groups.
- Plan and conduct SRH awareness sessions for beneficiaries at IYD WGSS in coordination with GBV specialist and team.
- Support the case managers in identifying young mothers who are pregnant or have had their first child or who are about to get married and in need of SRH awareness-raising sessions.
- Co-facilitate the focus group discussions (FGDs) or KIIs as requested by the GBV specialist in collecting information in line with YMC, M&E toolkit relevant activities.
- Ensure safe identification and referral of beneficiaries to GBV and SRH specialized services.
- Report the key findings, lessons learned, and best practices, on a regular basis as agreed internally with the project focal points.
- Support the team in assessing the needs, gaps, and improvement areas concerning SRH and contribute to the appropriate response activities.
- Follow up on admin-related tasks requested by WGSS senior assistant such as weekly task reports.
Note:
The above-mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department's organizational chart.
Qualification (Education/Work Experience)
- Essential:
- University degree in nursing is preferred, and the midwifery institute is possible, or any other related field of study.
- Previous practical experience in the same job position in an NGO.
- Commitment to the basic morals of working with vulnerable people and respecting confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and with a team at the same time.
- Ability to conduct individual and group awareness-raising sessions and group activities,
- Familiarity with GBV program and activities.
Desirable
- Master's degree in Medical Sciences.
- More than three years of professional experience in the same position.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience working with GBV survivors and previous experience working in MHPSS is a plus.
