Job Title: Microsoft Teams Migrations SME

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Teams Migrations SME to lead and support the migration of Microsoft within M365 Tenants.

The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of Teams architecture, interoperability, and migration strategies,

with hands-on experience in tenant-to-tenant migrations, and integration with Microsoft 365 services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the subject matter expert for Microsoft Teams migration projects
• Execute or support Microsoft Teams tenant-to-tenant migrations including chat history, Teams, channels, files, meetings, and user settings.
• Work closely with infrastructure, security, and support teams to ensure smooth transition with minimal business disruption.
• Perform pre-migration assessments, readiness checks, pilot testing, and post-migration validation.
• Troubleshoot migration-related issues and provide escalation-level support.
• Ensure compliance with governance, security, and change management policies during migrations.
• Provide technical documentation, runbooks, and user support materials for migration-related activities.
• Train internal teams or client users on new Teams features, calling policies, and collaboration capabilities post-migration.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Microsoft 365 technologies with a strong focus on Microsoft Teams.
• 2+ years specifically working on Teams migration projects including at least one full-scale enterprise migration.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Quest On Demand Migration
• In-depth knowledge of Teams architecture, Teams Calling, voice routing, Direct Routing, and integration with Exchange Online and SharePoint.
• Solid understanding of identity and authentication (Azure AD, ADFS, Hybrid Identity).
• Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for Teams management and automation tasks.
• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft certifications such as MS-700 (Managing Microsoft Teams) or MS-720 (Microsoft Teams Voice Engineer).
• Experience with Teams governance, retention policies, compliance features, and lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with tenant-to-tenant migration complexities including guest access, external sharing, and cross-tenant collaboration.
• Understanding of voice and video infrastructure, SBCs (Session Border Controllers), and PSTN integration.
• Experience working in enterprise-scale or regulated environments (finance, healthcare, etc.).
