Job Title: Senior Data Engineer – Microsoft Fabric Specialist Location: Kolkata Job Type: [Full-time/Contract] Experience Level: 7+ years (with significant hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric) Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric to lead the design, development, and optimization of modern data pipelines and lakehouse architectures. In this role, you will be instrumental in transforming our enterprise data landscape by leveraging the full Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, including OneLake, Data Factory, Synapse, and Power BI. Key Responsibilities Architect and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions using Microsoft Fabric. Design and build modern data pipelines, lakehouses, and ELT/ETL processes using Data Factory and Synapse Pipelines. Manage and optimize OneLake storage and dataflows to support high-performance analytics. Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end data solutions. Develop semantic models and data visualizations in Power BI for business insights. Implement best practices in data governance, quality, and performance tuning within the Fabric environment. Stay up to date with the latest features and capabilities in Microsoft Fabric and recommend enhancements as needed. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines, integration, and performance. Required Skills & Qualifications Proven experience as a Data Engineer with at least 2+ years hands-on with Microsoft Fabric. Expertise in Microsoft Fabric components: OneLake, Data Factory, Synapse, Power BI. Strong knowledge of data lakehouse architecture, delta lake, medallion architecture, and big data principles. Proficiency in SQL, Python or Spark, and data modeling. Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments. Experience with CI/CD, version control (Git), and DevOps for data pipelines is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly. Preferred Qualifications Microsoft certifications in Azure Data Engineering or Microsoft Fabric. Experience working in agile teams and using tools like Azure DevOps or Jira. Background in enterprise data warehouse modernization or digital transformation projects.
